PROJECT COORDINATOR – FACILITIES SERVICES

Associate's degree in Drafting, Engineering or Construction Management. Three (3) years related experience in facilities or construction management that includes preparing written reports and schedules that involve timelines. Knowledgeable and experienced with construction processes, procedures, applicable regulations and codes.
Excellent Microsoft Excel skills; proficient with Microsoft Word. Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail. Ability to multi-task, manage multiple projects, and work as an effective member of a team. Excellent problem-solving and decision making skills.

Capacity to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with campus community and community agencies.

Preferred Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management and five (5) year experience in facilities and construction management. Project Management and or Estimating certifications. Able to work under pressure and tight project schedules.
Responsible for inspecting and preparing field reports on ongoing campus projects. This includes and is not limited to taking progress photos, preparing daily reports, preparing punch lists, closeout letters.

Ensure that all informal bid projects assigned are in order with proper documentation and forms filed to meet System Regulation Rules. Coordinate with contractors by processing campus Facilities Modification Request for informal bids. Close out Construction Projects in TMA. Analyze project files with Assistant Director, Project Coordinator and Administrative Assistant.

Coordinate departmental moves due to construction projects. Gather and provide space occupancy data. Evaluate applicable Facility Modification Requests to ensure that the space changes are in alignment with long term plans and utilization guidelines. Update existing AutoCAD drawings to indicate appropriate function, use and room numbers as needed.

Provide space planning scenarios, identifying the space and requirements to develop space plans with maximum efficiency. Attend construction meetings with Assistant Physical Plant Director. Provide support for the Planning and Construction team in the ongoing development of space projects and allocations.

Monitor all aspects of construction process to assure adherence to construction specifications, architectural and engineering standards, building codes, and best practices through field inspections.

Ensure assigned office space and facility requirements and plans are executed in a timely manner needed to support the demand. Maintain collaborative relationships with Project Coordinators, Assistant Director and campus community. Direct student workers and part-time staff as needed along with being part of the team to keep plan room organized and in order.

Document Facility Inventory processes to ensure they are effective, efficient and reflective of all moves and room changes and/modifications. Use the Facility Inventory's unique alphabetic or numeric codes to reflect the room's actual use and function. Timely report as required by the Facilities Inventory requirements.

Working on all warranties and organizing project files, such as submittals, operation and maintenance manuals.

Maintain facility inventory in accordance with university standards, providing swift corrections as necessary. Work with Facilities Staff on In-House projects when required.

Local Architecture firm seeks an Architect / architectural intern with strong design abilities and experience in production of construction documents. Overall design sense and experience in production of quality construction drawings and construction details is preferred.

Ideal candidate would possess: professional degree, have 2-7 years experience with AutoCAD and Revit, and experience with basic construction administration duties. Candidates with experience with educational (K-12) projects for new construction and renovations preferred. Candidate must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team and communicate clearly with clients and consultants.

Desired Accreditations and skills:
• LEED accreditation and experience a plus
• Autodesk Revit capability a plus
• Proficient in a rendering program such as Autodesk’s 3D Studio Max 2008
• Proficient in a graphics oriented type of software such as Adobe Photoshop or Corel Draw X4, X5
• Good written and verbal skills
• Self-motivated
• Proficiency in working with Owners, Consultants and a multi-disciplined staff
